Bordeaux is one of the world’s most famous wine regions, and for good reason. With over 6000 chateaux spread across 60 appellations - regions and sub-regions - Bordeaux boasts a diversity of styles and producers who create over 9000 different labels every year. This means that there is a different wine for every mood and occasion, and a unique experience for every enthusiast.
My goal is to help you discover yours.
The Bordeaux wine region is vast, with thousands of chateaux to choose from spread out over several regions and sub-regions. Wines, like people, have their own identities and so depending on what you would like to drink, or what type of experience you would like to have, all of the tours are made to measure. My aim is to make sure you enjoy your day and what is in your glass.
Here are some of the regions I cover...
Located on the Left Bank, north of the city of Bordeaux, the Médoc is one of the largest of the wine regions around Bordeaux. With exceptional sub-regions all producing powerful wines, there is much to see, learn and taste. Find out more about the 1855 Classification of the Grand Crus and the significance it still holds today, or discover the winemakers that are on the forefront of a new era for this traditional region.
Across two rivers and on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, this region is centred around a picturesque medieval town that dates back to the 8th century. A distinguished region, Saint-Émilion offers beautiful landscapes, delicious red wines and a ton of history spanning over centuries. From small family owned estates to larger Grand Crus Classé chateaux, you will understand why this UNESCO World Heritage Site remains one of the most visited areas in the region.
South of Bordeaux and a stone's throw away from the city, we find one of the more "recent" wine regions known as Péssac-Léognan. Although the appellation was created in 1987, amazing wines have been made here for centuries and are part of those that put Bordeaux on the map. One of the few regions to be allowed to make white and red wines, there is a beautiful diversity in the region that combines tradition and modernity.
Born in the UK and raised in France, I have been in Bordeaux for over 20 years and want to share my love of the region (and the wines) with everyone...
